Vintage mannikin, Hebrew and Russian paper collage, netting with family photo transfers, my grandmother's tape measure

This is the story of my grandmother's immigration from Russia to New York. She was a skilled seamstress, hence her tape measure... She was active in the protests for unionization of the garment workers in NYC ( hence the photos) She was married here ( hence the netting) . The tag around her neck, with the key, reads in Yiddish " I am now an American", a statement that she was most proudly often repeated.
